From September 13-October 23, a successful CPMT meeting was held and followed by a retreat with Lama Zopa Rinpoche. These events were jointly hosted by three Australian FPMT entities: The Great Stupa, Atisha Centre and Thubten Shedrup Ling Monastery.

Following the moving long life puja offered to Lama Zopa Rinpoche, which came after the CPMT meeting (there was also a second long life puja offered to Rinpoche following the retreat), Lama Zopa Rinpoche offered over $24,000 to The Great Stupa, Atisha Centre and Thubten Shedrup Ling Monastery towards their incredible work.

2011, Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche began a series of one-month teaching retreats, all to be presented at the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion near Bendigo. The series of these teachings include Shantideva’s Bodhicaryavatara - A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life as well as preparation for the transmission of the rare Rinjung Gyatsa initiations. The three host centres – Atisha Centre, Thubten Shedrup Ling Monastery and the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion – are pleased to welcome Lama Zopa back to Australia in 2014 to continue these teachings, instructions and transmissions.

The three host centres, operating together as Lama Zopa Australia Inc., are also pleased to be hosting the Council for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (CPMT) meeting during the fortnight prior to the 2014 retreat. Please click here for more information about the CPMT meeting.

CENTRE MANAGER: Urgent
Full time position, 2 year contract, commencing end July/August 2014.
We are offering accommodation, food and a stipend.

Unfortunately our new manager has been unable to take up her appointment and we are urgently looking for someone to fill this position.

This is a very special opportunity to combine service and practice in a flourishing dharma centre, located in rural New Zealand. Mahamudra’s a stunning centre, physically and spiritually, regularly hosting teachings and retreats throughout the year attended by students from around the world. It’s a place for powerful spiritual transformation.

The Centre Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the centre. Four main areas of responsibility are as follows:
- Accommodation and hospitality: managing accommodation and retreat bookings, housekeeping, attending to needs of guests and visitors.
- Office administration: Maintaining office equipment, office supplies and office systems, cash flow management and banking.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance work as required.
- Volunteers: Recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers - cooks, housekeepers and grounds keepers .

We are looking for someone who has a background in administration, excellent communication and people skills. The position requires someone who has good oral and written English and is very computer literate. Property management and/or maintenance experience desirable. Experience supervising and coordinating staff or volunteers would also be very useful. Enthusiasm and a good sense of humour a must.

The ability to hold an overview, delegate and be flexible in an ever changing environment is absolutely essential. The job often requires that you just roll up your sleeves and do what’s necessary to get the job done. Drivers licence essential.

A student of Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche would be preferable and strong commitment to practice and the dharma essential. Previous experience at a dharma centre also helpful .

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
If you would like to lend a hand, we are organising a working bee to clear the paddock that will be used for the BYO Campers. This includes clearing out old timber and debris, trimming some trees and helping to do the initial layout of the sites for tents, toilets and showers.
WHEN: Saturday & Sunday, 19-20 July
WHERE: The paddock next to Atisha Centre (Myers Flat, VIC)

Chúng ta thích bám víu vào đời sống, vào xác thân và phát triển quá nhiều tham dục và luyến ái.
