CHARITABLE PURPOSES

Quang Duc Vietnamese Language School belief Vietnamese language and cultural support for migrant children and families will improve their social integration, building confident and wellbeing. It particularly effective to reduce acculturative dissimilation stress and promote generational consonance for Vietnamese migrant. To achieve our charitable purpose, Quang Duc Vietnamese Language school provide:

• Ongoing weekly class to support migrant children in speaking, reading and writing Vietnamese language and converse to English. Provide instruction and encourage children in Vietnamese arts and crafts, to build up children confident and support in preserving Vietnamese language and culture.

• Teaching materials integrate with daily routine activities in Vietnamese expression and Vietnamese media, books, music, shows and history stories like recognition of title over ancestral lands to immerse children in using mother language and understand parent’s perspectives, thus empowering family harmony.

• Provide link between school community staffs and parents to enhance language learning outcome for children. Additionally provide opportunities for migrant families to discussed family misunderstanding issues and seek guidance to re-align family understanding and rebuild family bond.

• Build teaching classroom and public library accessible to children and whom interested in Vietnamese cultural with collection of bilingual Vietnamese books with translation, Vietnamese songs, artwork, signs, Culture Storie, traditional cloth and hand craft works.

• Hosting Culture festival events including Mid Autumn Lanterns festival, Vietnamese New Year festival, etc in traditional Vietnamese style to connect families within community and create a welcoming environment and sense of belonging.

• Building a scholarship fund to reward and promote demonstrated substantial improvement in learning Vietnamese language.

Dear respected uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, and members of the Quang Duc Buddhist Family,

After the Covid pandemic, activities for the young Buddhists at Quang Duc Monastery faced many difficulties and interruptions.

Now, with favorable conditions, under the support and guidance of Most Venerable Abbot Thich Thong Man (Founder of Quang Duc Monastery) and Senior Venerable Thich Nguyen Tang (Abbot of Quang Duc Monastery), the leadership of the Quang Duc Buddhist Youth Family, and the assistance of our devoted Buddhist members.

Quang Duc Monastery is pleased to open the Quang Duc Vietnamese Language School, the Quang Duc Vovinam Martial Arts Class, and after-school tutoring sessions for the children.

With this effort, Quang Duc Monastery together with the Quang Duc Buddhist Youth Family hope to preserve the Vietnamese language for our younger generation and to nurture the young seedlings of Quang Duc Buddhists into wholesome, genuine Buddhists in the spirit of the Buddha’s teaching, bringing this noble work to successful fruition.

We would like to send this letter to sincerely invite all Buddhist members and parents to kindly take some of your precious time to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Quang Duc Vietnamese Language School and Vovinam Martial Arts Class on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

We also earnestly call upon the support of our Buddhist members to help with the teaching, administration, and operation of the Quang Duc Vietnamese Language School. We sincerely hope to receive your assistance and contribution, however small or great, from all members of the extended Quang Duc Buddhist Family.

Kính thưa quý ông bà, chú bác và anh chị em của đại gia đình Phật Tử Quảng Đức.

Sau đại dịch Covid chương trình sinh hoạt cho Phật Tử trẻ trong Tu Viện Quảng Đức gặp rất nhiều khó khăn và gián đoạn.

Nay thuận duyên dưới sự hỗ trợ và hướng dẫn của Hòa Thượng Viện Chủ Thích Thông Mẫn, Thượng Tọa Trụ Trì Thích Nguyên Tạng, Ban Huynh Trưởng Gia Đình Phật Tử Quảng Đức và cùng quý cô bà chú bác anh chị Phật Tử.

Tu Viện Quảng Đức mở Trường Việt Ngữ, lớp võ Vô Vi Nam Quảng Đức và lớp ôn bài cho các em.

Tu Viện Quảng Đức cùng gia đình Phật Tử Quảng Đức rất mong trong công việc nỗ lực gìn giữ ngôn ngữ tiếng Việt cho con em, và đào tạo những mầm non Phật Tử trẻ Quảng Đức thành những Phật Tử chân chánh lành mạnh theo tinh thần Phật Giáo, được thành công viên mãn.

Nay chúng con gởi thư này trân trọng kính mời quý Phật tử và Phụ huynh dành chút ít thời gian quý báu về tham dự lễ Khai Giảng trường Việt Ngữ và lớp võ Vô Vi Nam Quảng Đức, vào ngày Chủ Nhật 23/03/2025

và cũng xin chân thành kêu gọi quý Phật tử giành ít thời gian về cùng hỗ trợ và giúp đỡ trường Việt Ngữ Quảng Đức trong công việc giảng dạy, điều hành và hỗ trợ cho trường Việt Ngữ Quảng Đức, chúng con rất mong nhận sự góp sức dù ít hay nhiều của quý ông bà chú, bác và anh chị em của Đại Gia Đình Phật Tử Quảng Đức.
