BIOGRAPHY OF MOST VENERABLE THICH TRI TINH

- In 1937: ordained by Most Venerable Thich Hong Xung at Van Linh Temple, Tịnh Bien District, Chau Doc Province, (today known as An Giang Pronvice), given Dharma name Nhat Binh, posthumous title Thien Chanh, under 41th generation of dòng Thiền Lâm Tế Gia Phổ.

- In 1940: studied Buddhism at Level 1 at Tay Thien Temple Buddhism School, Level 2 at Bao Quoc Temple Buddhism School.

- In 1941: Became a novice at Quoc An Temple and was has given posthumous title Tri Tinh by the Most Venerable Thich Tri Do.

- In 1945: Came back to the South and set up Buddhism School at Phat Quang Tem ple at Tra On District, Can Tho District, Most Venerable Thich Thien Hoa was the Director and His Most Venerable being Chief Teacher cum Teacher Himself.

- In 1946: received the Bhikkhuni ordination and the Bodhisattva ordination at Long An Temple in Sa Dec.

- In 1948: Set up Lien Hai Buddhism School for Van Phuoc Temple in Binh Tri Dong Commune, Long Hung Thuong District, Can Tho Province (known as Binh Chanh District today, Ho Chi Minh City) and help the position of Director.

-In 1950: Shut himself off in Linh Son Temple in Vung Tau to strengthen his concentration power.

- In 1951: With Most Venerable Thich Thien Hoa merged 03 Buddhism Schools of Lien Hai, Mai Son, Sung Duc into Nam Viet Buddhism School at An Quang, in District 10, Cho Lon Province (known as District 10, Ho Chi Minh City).

- In 1953: Started construction of Van Duc Temple in Thu Duc.

- In 1955: Established the Pure Land Fellowship Society at Van Duc Temple, Thu Duc District; held the position of Teacher of Duties at the Tu Hieu Formal Ceremony of Ordination in Hue.

- In 1957: Held the position of Deputy Executive President cum Chief of Education Board for South Vietnam Buddhist Shangha and organised Tathagata’s Messengers Classes at Phap Hoi Temple, Tuyen Lam – Cho Lon Temple, Duoc Su – Gia Dinh Temple to train abbots and officers for the Buddhist Congregations.

-In 1959: At the Second Assembly (on the 10th and 11th September, 1959) at An Quang Temple: appointed at Executive President of National Vietnam Buddhist Shangha; Master of the Rules of the Discipline at Hai Duc Formal Ceremony of Ordination in Nha Trang.

- From 1960 – 1962: Master of the Rules of the Discipline for the Formal Ceremonies of Ordination at An Quang Temple and Phap Hoi – Cho LonTemple.

- In 1962: Appointed as Deputy Dean of Hai Duc – Nha Trang Buddhism Institute of Central Areas by the Central Buddhist Congregation.

- In 1964: Head of Delegation of South Vietnam Buddhist Shangha to attend the Assembly of National Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at Xa Loi Temple and His Most Venerable was promoted as the General of General Department of Sangha’s proceedings.

- In 1964: Master of the Rules of the Discipline for the Quang Duc Formal Ceremonies of Ordination at Vietnam Quoc Tu-Cho Lon Temple.

- In 1965: Announcer for the Ceremony of Ordination at Hue Nghiem-Cho Lon Buddhism School.

- In 1966: Master of the Rules of the Discipline for the Quang Duc Formal Ceremonies of Ordination at Hue Nghiem-Cho Lon Buddhism School .

- In 1966 – 1968: Appointed as Chief Secretary of Supreme Patriarch at the second Assembly of National Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

- Từ In 1968 – 1971: Part of Teaching Staff at Hue Nghiem Buddhism School.

- In 1969: Master of the Rules of the Discipline for the Quang Duc Formal Ceremonies of Ordination at Hue Nghiem Buddhism School.

- In 1976: Member of Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee.

- In 198: Teacher of the Rules of the Discipline cum Chief Examiner for the Thien Hoa Formal Ceremonies of Ordination at An Quang Temple

- In 1980: Deputy of Appeal Board for National Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

- From 4 - 7 11/1981: His Most Venerable was appointed to be a Member of the Recognition Council and was recommended to be Deputy Standing President of Executive Council, Head of Sangha’s proceedings of the National Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at the National Buddhist Delegates’ Meetings.

- In 1982 – 1987: Head of Sangha’s proceedings of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Administration Society

- From In 1984 to present: President of Executive Council, Head of Shangha’s Proceedings Central Committee of the National Vietnam Buddhist Shangha.

- In 1984 – 2001: Most Venerable Teacher for the Formal Ceremonies of Ordination at An Quang Temple.

- In 1984: His Most Venerable was appointed as Member of Chairman’s Board of Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee at its Third National Meeting and as Deputy Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee at its Fourth National Meeting;.

- In 1994: was appointed as Deputy Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee at its Eighth National Meeting

- In 2004: Most Venerable for the Tri Tan Formal Ceremonies of Ordination held by Binh Duong Province Buddhist Executive Council.

- In 2005, Most Venerable for the 4th Thien Hoa Formal Ceremonies of Ordination held by Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Buddhist Executive Council.

- In 2001: restored Main Hall, Open Space Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Tower, Library, Meditation Hall, Reading Room for Van Duc Temple.

- In 2002: Main sponsor for renovation of Office 2 for the Central Buddhist Congregation, Quang Duc Meditation Centre.

- In 2004: Developed the Main Hall and Previous Masters Alter at Van Duc Temple.

Happy 80th Birthday to Your Holy Highness, the 14th Dalai Lama Dear Holy Highness, On behalf of the Buddhist members of the Quang Duc Vietnamese Monastery in Victoria, Australia, I would like to thank you for your coming to Australia for this, the tenth time, to bring peace, happiness and your teachings to all of the people in our humble country. You are the manifestation of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, the symbol of the mother of Compassion. Your loving kindness and wise teachings have helped to heal much of the sickness of the world today. We Buddhists, are so proud of you, the one person who has done so much to bring Buddhism to the West. May the Buddha bless you with good health and a long life. May you and your people return to Tibet soon; and May Tibet soon reclaim their independence. We pray that Your Holy Highness enjoys a happy and memorable 80th Birthday. There had been many changes to Australia since Malcolm Fraser became its 22nd Prime Ministe. During his leadership of 7 years and 4 months (11/11/1975 to 11/03/1983) with the implementation of multi-cultural promotion policies that enhance human rights, compassion and social justice, 56,000 Vietnamese boat people became Australian residents. The number has increased, leading to a community of 300,000 Vietnameses up to now.

On 26 February 2015 (i.e. the 8th of the 1st lunar month, Ất Mùi year), the renouncing ceremony for Miss Bích Liên was held greatly and repespectfully at Ngọc Vân Temple, Bắc Bình province, Bình Thuận county. Most Venerable Thích Giác Hoằng and Most Venerable Thích Nữ Diệu Liên, the abbess of Ngọc Vân Temple, honorly attended to bless for her. After the teaching from Most Venerable Thích Giác Hoằng, Miss Bích Liên now aka Reverend Thích Nữ Liên Ngọc expressed her good reason to be a nun. Lãnh đạo tinh thần của người Tây Tạng, Đức Đạt Lai Lạt Ma, nói với BBC ông cho rằng có thể mình sẽ là người cuối cùng giữ cương vị này. Tuy nhiên ông nói cũng là điều tốt nếu như truyền thống nhiều thế kỷ nay dừng ở "một vị Đạt Lai Lạt Ma được nhiều người tôn kính". To the south of Los Angeles is a lively independent suburb named Garden Grove. This small city with a population of around 170,000 is home to the Little Saigon of the Los Angeles region, named for the large number of Vietnamese refugees that immigrated there during the 1970s. There was once the son of a Brahmin (the highest "priestly" caste in India) in the court of King Pasenadi of Kosala, whose name was Ahimsaka. He was sent to Taxila for his studies. Ahimsaka was intelligent and obedient to this teacher; therefore he was liked by both the teacher and his wife. This made the other pupils jealous of him.
