Welcome to “禅心” - “CHANXIN” the newly conceptualized magazine dedicated to Buddhism. This publication is proudly brought to you by the Mettavalokana Buddhist Publications Centre in Sri Lanka. As the Chief Editor, Founder, and Chairman of this magazine, my primary objective is to impart the teachings of Buddhism.
The “禅心” - “CHANXIN” International Buddhist Magazine, guided by its motto, “Enlighten the Minds,” aspires to be the conduit for disseminating the profound wisdom of the Enlightened One, Lord Buddha, to individuals all around the world. My mission at “禅心” - “CHANXIN” is to craft and publish articles and stories related to Buddhism, making them accessible through various print and online media platforms worldwide. Furthermore, my magazine endeavors to instill virtuous habits and qualities, rooted in Buddhism, among the global youth and young generation.

Bhikkhunis” Proudly Presents to Highest Bhikkhuni Sasana….
According to Buddhist scriptures, the order of Bhikkhunis was first created by the Buddha at the specific request of His Aunt and Foster -
Mother “Mahapajapati Gotami”, who became the first ordained Bhikkhuni. During the time of Buddha, the First Bhikkhuni ordination took place in the fifth year after the Buddha’s Enlightenment. The Buddha’s words were “I allow Nuns to be ordained by Monks”.
Following Buddha’s instructions, “Mettavalokanaya” - Sri Lankan’s Most Popular & Leading Monthly International Buddhist Magazine decided starting their second and newly magazine & website specially for whole Bhikkhunis (Nuns) in the world. This is the World’s First Time, and this is the First International Bhikkhunis Magazine & Website.
Today marks a very special day for me, because I had one dream to publish one special Buddhist Magazine specially for Bhikkhunis in the World. I am not a Monk or Bhikkhuni or Lady, but as a Layma

Tooth Relic of the Buddha, on the lush green grounds of the University of Peradeniya, Kandy, the Departments of Education and Buddhist Studies held a Buddhist Seminar on July 14, 2023, with the patronage of Maha Mahinda International Dharmadutha Society, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Huong Sen Buddhist Temple, California, USA.

It is my great pleasure to receive an invitation from the Senior Venerable Thich Nguyen Tang to write an introduction for his new book. I don’t think that my very poor introduction will be sufficient for his book. Perhaps it could be unfair to his great endeavor - better delete it. However, I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude towards him. I stayed in his monastery for a short time, during which time I was so well treated by him as his own monastery brother. I write this introduction very happily, even it is poor, to offer him a tribute. On one hand, I consider it as my great obligation and on the other hand it is my privilege.

Dealing with the chosen work, I observe that a puggala has been present in the world because of dependent origination (paṭiccasamuppāda) or continuity of change (santāna). The five masses of elements (pañcakkhandhā), which constitute the puggala and the world around him, are without any substance (anattā), impermanent (anicca) and they are really causes of grief (dukkha)...

One day, Little Pebble went to his teacher, and said, ‘Master, my friend’s dog Tiger died.’
The look on Little Pebble’s face told the old monk that he was troubled. ‘Little one, do you have any questions?’
‘Master, where did Tiger go?’
‘Where did you come from?’ asked the old monk.
‘From my mummy’s tummy.’
‘And where did Mummy come from?’
Little Pebble couldn’t think of an answer.
The Master regarded his young disciple for a moment, then said, ‘Remember, when you made shapes with mud and named them Mummy, Daddy, Master?’
