Chim bay khắp bốn phương trời

Chim bay khắp bốn phương trời

Đất lành chim đậu núi đồi mông mênh,
Ruộng đồng cây cỏ tươi xanh
Sông sâu hồ rộng để dành nuôi chim.

Trần gian không có con Tim
Thiên nhiên xinh đẹp vô tình lãng quên,
Nhiệm mầu thay những cánh chim
Tự do bay lượn thỏa tình rong chơi.

Tham lam là kiếp con người
Miếng cơm manh áo suốt đời chạy quanh,
Săn bắt tàn phá rừng xanh
Bẩy chim bắn thú tan tành ổ hang.

Thuở xưa ruộng lúa đồng xanh
Từng đàn cò trắng lượn quanh nhịp nhàng
Thanh bình như cảnh thiên đàng
Sông xanh nước biếc huy hoàng non cao.

Bây giờ muông thú xôn xao
Rừng hoang hồ cạn nơi nào trú thân!
Chim chóc nay cũng mãn phần
Trời cao kia cũng bụi trần vướng dơ.

Không gian mây xám giăng tơ
Chim đàn vỗ cánh vật vờ về đâu,
Cuộc đời bãi bể nương dâu
Bồng lai tiên cảnh nhuốm màu tang thương.

Thịnh suy vạn vật vô thường!!!
Chúng sanh gánh chịu muôn vàn tai ương
Cội nguồn đâu những con đường
Bình an nơi cõi Thiên Đường Xin Vâng!

Your Holinesses, Your Excellencies, Your Emminencies, dear Most Venerables, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen. Please allow me to read the words that our Beloved Teacher, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, wished to deliver here today: “We are grateful to gather today to announce to the world our commitment to work together to end Modern Slavery; and to plea to those who traffic in human beings to stop their exploitation; and to ask world leaders and organisations to protect the dignity of these young women, men and children. They are our daughters and sons, our sisters and brothers.

This morning, hundreds of Western Buddhist teachers sent an open letter to the President, asking him to show concern for Burma’s Muslims. (In the September issue of the Shambhala Sun, Buddhist teacher Jack Kornfield wrote about the anti-Muslim violence being committed by Buddhists in Burma. That article, along with action items for how you can help, is available to read in full.)

Ancient sacred Buddha relics said to have mysterious energy and healing properties are to go on public display in Cork for the first time — all thanks to a non-Buddhist. The remarkable Maitreya Loving Kindness Tour, seen by more than 2.5m people around the world, is coming to University College Cork next weekend thanks to Ballydehob-based Richard Walsh.

A great story with a great moral that leaves us wondering about the real differences between the rich and the poor.

My dear President Obama: By now-you are certainly convinced that your staff was correct in suggesting a historic 20 minutes presidential phone call to the Lady-prisoner of conscience-of Burma. It has been said that U.S.Presidential power-if used wisely-could bring more victories than what 10 Army Divisions invading Iraq could achieve with fire power. Former President Ronald Reagan used it at Berlin when he sent a strong message through the media: “Mr.Gorbachev: Tear down this Wall!” Mr.Gorbachev not only torn down the wall, he dis-banded the formidable Communist Party, leading to the breaking up of the Soviet Union. You can do the same thing to China during your watch.
