Whether GDPT come together from around Melbourne, around Victoria and even from around Australia, it is my privilege and a joy to be with you today, even if only for a short time. At Quang Duc, the GDPT know I feel you are like my extended family, and it is heart-warming when you invite me to share in some of your activities. I look around and realize how big that extended family has become over the past decade. There was a time when I thought the GDPT were simply Sunday School Scouts, and in some ways, you are. But over time, I have realised that the GDPT are far more than that, and you have the opportunity to make it even better.

We acknowledge that Mrs Margaret Elanie Morgan who was born in Birmingham, England on the 21s January 1921 and who passed away in Arcare nursing home, Wantirna, at 11pm, Thursday, 18th May 2017, aged 97 years, has contributed significantly to your families and will be sadly missed.We have known that Mrs Margaret is lovely mother of 3 children. She and her husband Mr Harold Morgan (1927-2006) brought their children to Australia in 1963. Both of them work hard to look after their children. Mrs Margaret is a kind and wise lady, with a sense of humour. Life was not always easy for her, but she kept strong for her family. In the year of 2011, she was 90 years old. She marked that important point of her life by making a vow to become a Buddhist disciple and Master Tam Phuong gave her the Buddhist name ‘Thien An Hoa’, meaning that Good Deed and Harmony Life. She was very happy to have that beautiful religious name.
