Lễ Húy Nhật lần 12 Đức Đại Lão Hòa Thượng Thích Trí Tịnh (1917-2014) tại Chùa Vạn Phật, Victoria, Úc Châu

Hôm nay, thứ Hai ngày 6 tháng 4 năm 2026 (nhằm ngày 20 tháng 2 năm Bính Ngọ), trong không khí trang nghiêm và thanh tịnh, tại Chùa Vạn Phật (vùng Little River, sát biên với Geelong, tiểu bang Victoria, Úc Châu), cộng đồng Phật tử đã vân tập về tham dự Lễ Vía Bồ Tát Quán Thế Âm và tưởng niệm húy nhật lần thứ 10 của Đức Đại Lão Hòa Thượng Thích Trí Tịnh, bậc long tượng của Phật giáo Việt Nam trong thời hiện đại.

Trong ánh đạo vàng rực rỡ và hương trầm lan tỏa, buổi lễ được cử hành một cách long trọng, kết hợp hài hòa giữa truyền thống Phật giáo Việt Nam và nghi lễ Phật giáo Tây Tạng, thể hiện tinh thần giao hòa văn hóa tâm linh sâu sắc.

Chứng minh và chủ sám buổi lễ là Hòa thượng Geshe la Doga (Viện Chủ Chùa Tara Tây Tạng, vùng Brighton, Melbourne), với phong thái an nhiên, uy nghiêm, dẫn dắt đại chúng vào không gian thiêng liêng của chánh niệm và từ bi.

Phần nghi lễ tụng kinh được thực hiện trang nghiêm qua hai ngôn ngữ. Duy-na và duyệt chúng tụng kinh tiếng Tây Tạng có sự hiện diện của chư Tôn đức Tây Tạng: Lạt Ma Shabdrung Rinpoche và Lạt Ma Tsadong Rinpoche, với âm điệu trầm hùng, sâu lắng, ngân vang như đưa đại chúng về với cõi tịnh thanh.

Song song đó, nghi thức tụng kinh bằng tiếng Việt được điều hành bởi chư Tôn đức Việt Nam: Thượng  Tọa Thích Nguyên Tạng (trụ trì Tu Viện Quảng Đức)  và Thượng Tọa Thích Hoằng Niệm (trụ trì Chùa Vạn Phật), với giọng tụng nhịp nhàng, truyền cảm, giúp đại chúng dễ dàng hòa nhập và nhất tâm hướng về Tam Bảo.

Buổi lễ còn có sự quang lâm tham dự của nhiều vị cao tăng Tây Tạng khác như ngài Geshe la Sonam, Geshe Jampa, Lobsang Konchok, Geshe Tsoda, Geshe Jangchob, Geshe Choephe, Thầy Adhisila (người Bangladesh) và Sư Cô Thích Nữ Thanh Quang (Tri Sự Chùa Vạn Phật).

Trong không gian linh thiêng ấy, hình ảnh Đức Bồ Tát Quán Thế Âm hiện lên như biểu tượng bất diệt của lòng từ bi cứu khổ cứu nạn, soi sáng tâm thức đại chúng giữa cuộc đời nhiều biến động. Đồng thời, lễ tưởng niệm Đức Đại Lão Hòa Thượng Thích Trí Tịnh cũng là dịp để tứ chúng đệ tử ôn lại công hạnh cao dày của Ngài, một bậc dịch giả kinh điển lỗi lạc, người đã dành trọn đời mình cho sự nghiệp hoằng pháp và phụng sự Đạo pháp, Dân tộc.

Đặc biệt, trước ngày lễ này, Thượng Tọa Thích Nguyên Tạng đã dành thời gian viết bài tưởng niệm với nhan đề: “14 chữ vàng để lại cho đời của Đại Lão Hòa Thượng Thích Trí Tịnh” . Bài viết không chỉ là nén tâm hương chí thành dâng lên bậc Tôn sư khả kính, mà còn là sự kết tinh sâu sắc những giá trị tu tập và hoằng pháp mà Ngài đã trọn đời truyền trao. Qua từng dòng chữ thấm đượm đạo vị, hình ảnh của Đức Đại Lão Hòa Thượng Thích Trí Tịnh hiện lên với đầy đủ phẩm hạnh cao quý: tinh thần hộ pháp an dân, đức khiêm cung, chí nguyện kiên định và sự tận tụy phụng sự không mệt mỏi. Chính những giá trị ấy đã kết tinh thành đạo phong sáng ngời của một bậc long tượng Phật giáo Việt Nam trong thời đại chúng ta. (Mời vào xem bài này)

Bài viết đồng thời cũng là lời sách tấn sâu xa gửi đến hàng hậu học, khơi dậy chí nguyện noi theo dấu chân của bậc tiền nhân, tiếp nối mạng mạch Chánh pháp, và đem ánh sáng từ bi-trí tuệ lan tỏa vào đời trong bối cảnh xã hội hiện đại đầy biến động.

Buổi lễ khép lại trong niềm hoan hỷ và xúc động sâu sắc. Âm vang của những thời kinh, lời kệ vẫn còn lắng đọng trong tâm khảm mỗi người, như nhắc nhở chúng ta tiếp tục nuôi dưỡng tâm từ bi, tinh tấn tu học, và sống xứng đáng với ân đức của chư Phật, chư Tổ đã dày công vun bồi.

Nguyện cầu hồng ân Tam Bảo gia hộ cho thế giới hòa bình, chúng sinh an lạc, và cho tất cả chúng ta luôn vững bước trên con đường giác ngộ và giải thoát.

The Commemoration Ceremony of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva
and the 10th Memorial Anniversary of the Late Most Venerable Thich Tri Tinh

Today, Monday, April 6, 2026 (corresponding to the 20th day of the 2nd lunar month, Year of Binh Ngo), in an atmosphere of solemnity and serenity, at Van Phat Temple (located in Little River, near Geelong, Victoria, Australia), the Buddhist community gathered to participate in the Commemoration of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and to honor the 10th memorial anniversary of the Late Most Venerable Thich Tri Tinh, a towering figure of modern Vietnamese Buddhism.

Bathed in the radiant golden light of the Dharma and enveloped in the gentle fragrance of incense, the ceremony was conducted with great dignity, harmoniously blending the traditions of Vietnamese Buddhism with Tibetan Buddhist rituals, reflecting a profound spirit of spiritual and cultural integration.

Presiding over and officiating the ceremony was Venerable Geshe la Doga (Abbot of Tara Tibetan Temple, Brighton, Melbourne), whose serene and dignified presence guided the assembly into a sacred space of mindfulness and compassion.

The chanting rituals were solemnly performed in two languages. The Tibetan chanting was led by the chant leaders and supported by the presence of esteemed Tibetan monastics, including Lama Shabdrung Rinpoche and Lama Tsadong Rinpoche. Their deep, resonant voices carried a profound and majestic tone, as if transporting the entire assembly into a realm of pure serenity.

In parallel, the Vietnamese chanting was conducted by distinguished Vietnamese monastics: Venerable Thich Nguyen Tang (Abbot of Quang Duc Monastery) and Venerable Thich Hoang Niem (Abbot of Van Phat Temple). Their rhythmic and heartfelt chanting enabled the congregation to harmoniously participate, uniting their minds in sincere devotion to the Triple Gem.

The ceremony was further graced by the presence of many respected Tibetan monks, including Geshe la Sonam, Geshe Jampa, Lobsang Konchok, Geshe Tsoda, Geshe Jangchob, Geshe Choephe, Venerable Adhisila (from Bangladesh), and Bhikkhuni Thich Nu Thanh Quang (Temple Administrator of Van Phat Temple).

Within this sacred space, the image of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva emerged as an eternal symbol of boundless compassion, alleviating suffering and illuminating the minds of all beings amid the uncertainties of life. At the same time, the memorial ceremony for the Late Most Venerable Thich Tri Tinh offered the fourfold assembly an opportunity to reflect upon his immense contributions—a great translator of Buddhist scriptures who devoted his entire life to the propagation of the Dharma and the service of both Buddhism and the nation.

Notably, prior to this ceremony, Venerable Thich Nguyen Tang composed a commemorative article entitled: “Fourteen Golden Words Left for Posterity by the Late Most Venerable Thich Tri Tinh.” This work serves not only as a sincere offering of homage to a revered spiritual teacher, but also as a profound crystallization of the values of cultivation and Dharma propagation that he embodied throughout his life. Through eloquent and Dharma-infused prose, the noble image of the Late Most Venerable Thich Tri Tinh is vividly portrayed, his unwavering dedication to protecting the Dharma and benefiting society, his humility, steadfast aspiration, and tireless service. The article also serves as a heartfelt exhortation to future generations, inspiring them to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, to continue the lineage of the True Dharma, and to bring the light of compassion and wisdom into the complexities of modern society.

The ceremony concluded in a spirit of deep joy and reverence. The echoes of chanting and sacred verses continued to resonate in the hearts of all present, gently reminding us to nurture compassion, diligently cultivate the path, and live in a way that honors the profound grace of the Buddhas and Patriarchs who have tirelessly paved the way before us.

May the blessings of the Triple Gem bring peace to the world, happiness to all beings, and guide us all to steadfastly walk the path toward awakening and liberation.
