Ruwan M Jayatunge
Ruwan M Jayatunge received his MD from Vinnitsa National Medical University Ukraine in 1993 and he worked as a Medical officer of Mental Health at the Ministry of Heath in Sri Lanka. He worked for the Sri Lanka Army treating combatants with PTSD. He became one of the pioneers to study the psycho social effects of PTSD in Sri Lanka. Ruwan has written a number of books and published several research articles on PTSD. He studied Child Psychology at the Barnsley College in Great Britain and Psycho Social Rehabilitation at the Humber College in Canada. He underwent residential training of EMDR in Philadelphia under the renowned Psychologist Dr Susan Rogers. He received high honors diploma in SSW from Seneca college and completed his degree in Psychology at the York University Canada. He is a registered psychotherapist in Ontario and Registered EMDR therapist in Canada. Also he is an ADS -Acudetox Specialist in Canada. Currently he is doing his PhD in Psychotherapy at Sigmund Freud University Vienna -Austria. Ruwan M Jayatunge is a guest lecturer and he has delivered several lectures on War trauma and PTSD at the Washburn University Kansas , York University Canada, Coatesville VA Medical Center in Pennsylvania and at the Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is a member of the International Scientific Committee of the Posttraumatic Embitterment Disorder (PTED) panel representing Canada.
