Jing Yin, Ph.D., Associate Professor

Dr. Yin is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Communication. She teaches Media and Culture, Mass Media Analysis, Communication and Social Change, International Communication, and Intercultural Communication. She is also Fellow at the Molefi Kete Asante Institute for Afrocentric Studies. Dr. Yin earned her Ph.D. in Mass Communications from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining the UH Hilo faculty in 2007, she was Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at Clemson University in South Carolina.
